Just Plain Folks song contest. Here's the tuning I use for the song and a short video clip of the main 'slapping/tapping' technique that gives this tune it's unique sound. Try slapping the low strings with your thumb like a bass player. The harmonic tapping happens by keeping the left hand hammer on's going on and simultaneously tapping the 12th fret harmonics with your right hand. I discovered this by accident and was astounded to hear that you could get two separate melody lines going on at the same time! |
